A Quarter Century of Celebrating Excellent Teachers: 2010 Golden Apple Awards
In 2010, Golden Apple will celebrate the 25th annual Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching. Since 1986, the Golden Apple Awards ceremony, inspired by the Academy Awards for film, has promoted teaching excellence by annually recognizing 10 outstanding teachers in the Chicago area.

The Golden Apple Awards ceremony represents one of Chicago's premier black-tie events, attended by the city's education, civic and business leaders. Golden Apple once again partnered with WTTW Channel 11 to air the ceremony as a television special, which has received critical acclaim in the past years, including seven Emmy Awards from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
