25th year supporting teaching excellence in Illinois.
There are more than 1.2 million not-for-profit organizations in the United States.
Many worthwhile causes compete for private funds. The recent economic climate
has challenged public budgets and constrained charitable giving, which
declined 3.6% in 2009.
At Golden Apple, we are proud of our quarter-century of accomplishment. We credit
our longevity to the importance of our mission, the value of our solutions, and most of all,
to the high caliber of the Golden Apple family:
• Fellows of the Golden Apple Academy of Educators—Winners of Golden Apple Awards
for Excellence in Teaching and Teachers of Distinction
• Dedicated members of our Board of Directors, Associates Board, and staff
• Eager and committed Scholars
• Passionate educators who attend our workshops to enhance their effectiveness in the classroom, share their expertise with other teachers, evaluate Award nominees, and serve the teaching community in myriad ways
• Government and business leaders who continue to champion our cause—
to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Illinois, with an emphasis on economically
and educationally disadvantaged schools
We are calling on the Golden Apple family now to help us continue our legacy. The campaign is simple—$25 for the 25th. One dollar for each of our years in operation.
As individuals dedicated to the rewards of teaching, we may not be able to fund endowments or even attend the Golden Apple Awards gala each year, but we can do this.
• In recognition of what Golden Apple has offered each of us
• In recognition of what excellent teachers offer our students
• In celebration of the energy and enthusiasm of Golden Apple’s founders, Mike and Pat Koldyke
• As testament to the importance and value of quality education
