Brigid Duffy Gerace, a 1991 Fellow, is featured this month as a Free Resource inspiration for those teachers who wonder how they can combine their artistic talents with careers in education. Brigid is both a recognized Chicago artist and a beloved 3rd Grade teacher. She has also been an Academy First Chair, a founder of the Golden Apple Academy Storytelling Workshop, and a union rep, and she continues to mentor teachers at the university level as well as act on the stage. The attached article, written by Frank J. Mahon,of the Irish American News, talks of Brigid’s life as a dramatic artist. She is proof that great teachers are tireless human beings and can “do it all.”
