Gloria Harper joined Golden Apple Foundation as Chief Program Officer in January 2007. A former Dean of Students at Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois, where she also taught Advanced Placement Biology, Harper previously taught for 23 years in Chicago public schools. She is a nationally recognized leader in equity and justice initiatives.
Harper was Director of the Golden Apple Teacher Education program (GATE) from February 2003 through August 2005. As a teacher at Lake Forest Academy in 1992, Harper was a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Education.
