Finding New and Better Ways to Teach from Peers and Experts
Golden Apple offers professional development workshops and seminars to teachers at all stages of their career. The programs are presented by Golden Apple Award-winning teachers and other experts in their fields, providing innovative approaches to classroom instruction.
Programs include the Inquiry Science Institute, which introduces inquiry science techniques to elementary school teachers; Teachers for Tomorrow, which allows new and prospective teachers to learn more about the profession; and CORE, the Center for Ongoing Renewal and Enrichment, where Golden Apple Scholars and their colleagues take part in seminars and reflective activities to enrich their professional lives as teachers.
Special summer seminars have included week-long programs on incorporating the arts into the classroom, digital storytelling, polar science and climate studies, and the culture and history of the Native Peoples of the Mississippi Valley.
