Our Work in Michigan
The Golden Apple Scholars Program in Michigan launched in 2024, offering a comprehensive pathway for aspiring teachers. We focus on every stage, from recruiting diverse, high-achieving students and providing robust undergraduate support, to delivering intensive, in-residence training through our Scholar Institutes, facilitating ideal first-year placements, and offering ongoing mentorship for long-term success. Our inaugural cohort of 35 Scholars experienced our first annual Scholar Institute in July 2024, with unanimous feedback indicating a significant increase in their teaching confidence.
This holistic approach ensures that Golden Apple recruits and develops educators who reflect the communities they serve, are exceptionally prepared by experienced teachers, and are supported throughout their careers to become and remain impactful classroom leaders.
